I waited 10 minutes for the bus. No big deal! I'm gonna be richer! I get off & walk 2 blocks. It's cold. Oh well! I hit Buffalo first. Tell me why it's a loong as wait. There's like 3 other people's name on the list. So I'm like ugh ok, I'll go to Crossroads. I wanted to go to Buffalo first 'cause they're a bit more picky. But whatever. So I'm next in line and she goes through all the clothes. What does she choose? A vest. 1 vest. A yellow & poo green plaid vest. Basically as she shuffled through my clothes she told me that they're looking for winter wear. Ok? So she gives me my $4.35 & I huff a little back to Buffalo. Here I am with like 7 people in front of me. There's a bunch of people trying to sell shit! One lady brought 2 luggages full. The lady before that had 2 garbage bags full & left with 2 garbage bags full. But I'm like, I should at least try right? So it's finally my turn. I try to make a little convo with the sales clerk. She tells me that Mondays are busy & they have boxes of clothes in the back so they have to be even more selective. I see her eye the fake designers for a bit & put them aside. Then she goes through the rest of the items. And. takes. none. I died a little.
I have now learned the trade of these BUY/SELL/TRADE stores.
- never go on Mondays
- never go during the holiday seasons when everyone's all generous & feel like donating clothes
- sell by season
- put the most eye catching items up top so they think you'll have even better items as they select
